• Estate Planning
  • Probate
  • Trust Administration
  • Litigation involving estate disputes.

The estate planning practice includes the preparation of:

  • Trusts
  • Wills
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Advanced Healthcare Directives.

Estate planning takes into account the client’s tax needs and both their immediate and long term goals to manage their assets and estate. Powers of attorney are an effective tool to assist a loved one with their assets and healthcare needs when they may be unable to provide for themselves.

The probate process assists the client with the administration of a decedent’s estate with the court. This can be a procedurally complicated process. DNLC’s role is to guide and assist the client in all aspects of the probate process.

More and more clients are choosing to use a living trust in lieu of a will. A trust may avoid the probate process, and its expense and delay. However, there are certain legal requirements that must be fulfilled to properly administer a trust. Our attorneys can assist the client with the administration in a cost effective and prompt manner.

Throughout our history, DNLC attorneys have litigated disputed estate matters on behalf of our clients. The primary issues have involved capacity, contract and real property. Our attorneys have tried estate and related cases in the Superior Courts of Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yuba, Yolo and Fresno Counties as well as The United States District Court.
